Then and Now

One of the last times I was in New York was basically photowalking around with a friend and maybe a dozen rolls of black and white film. We just wandered. I hadn’t spent a lot of time in the city, and he had grown up here. That, and I had, 6 weeks earlier, had my appendix out and needed to do a lot of walking to build up muscle strength again. Wandering around yesterday, I managed to catch a few photos of places I had been before. Here’s a pair, showing the remodeling effort at the Battery Maritime Building near Southport:
