KPFA Craft and Music Fair

The absolute best craft fair I’ve been to is coming up again. It’s December 8th & 9th in San Francisco, and perfect for your last minute Christmas shopping. Above is one of the children’s quilts that I photographed for KPFA/EBHQ for their marketing this year. I covered the fair last year for KPFA, as well. Read on for more details on the fair.

QUICK FACTS

WHAT:
The 37th Annual KPFA Crafts & Music Fair is the largest weekend holiday craft fair of its kind in Northern California. Every year, more than 10,000 collectors, craft enthusiasts and holiday shoppers attend this signature event that features high-quality, original work created by crafts makers and artists from throughout the United States, a gourmet food pavilion and live music. Proceeds from the Fair benefit KPFA 94.1 fm, the country’s first nonprofit listener-sponsored, free speech public radio station.

ART:
220 exhibitors are selected by a jury of peers and feature original and contemporary handcrafted items including:

· Jewelry

· Functional and decorative glass and ceramics

· Fine art photography

· Watercolor and oil painting

· Sculpture, metalwork and wood

· Household accessories, toys and musical instruments

WHAT’S NEW THIS YEAR:

· East Bay Heritage Quilters (EBHQ) will display quilts from their Children’s Quilts Project. Every year, this organization makes over 1,000 quilts that are distributed to children living with AIDS and HIV, children born drug-addicted and children without homes. A selection of these beautiful and heartwarming quilts will be on display. Hands-on quilting activities for adults and children will be offered.
