Napa County Panorama

I think this is my first successfully stitched panorama using the KAP rig:

KAP Handbook

Shiny new 8' RokakkuDavid Wheeler, an avid KAPper from Maryland (I *think* — the Internet is funny that way) has put together a 30-page KAP guide (pdf) for a group he helped get into KAPping. It is written specifically for them, but contains tons of really useful info on how the rigs work, and how to get things going.

I spent so much time shooting black and white film, and I still really like the look of it. This was shot with a 3 megapixel Canon P&S, and then converted using a film filter emulating Kodak Tri-X film. The tone curves were then tweaked again to give it that “haunted” look.

There’s some more detail on this over on my Alameda Project blog, along with photos from someone else who ventured inside this building back in February.

To those who saw me wandering down the beach in alameda with a kite taking pictures– hello!  =)

I haven’t processed the images from the beach yet, but I did do some from earlier in the day at Ritler Park (Otis & Grand).  Those images, and many more from previous excursions are here, on Flickr.
