    Doesn’t Mythbusters use the Alameda airstrip when they need to crash stuff into other stuff?

    Yep, they’re usually on runway 7/25 which is directly north of the big X I linked to. In google maps, it has a bunch of tents on it– GM and I think a few others do special events where you can drive all of their cars on tracks they set up with cones & lines– if you screw up, you’ve got a 200-foot-wide runway and surrounding field to land the car in without crashiing it.

    Unfortuneately, the Mythbusters are really hard to connect with, as their popularity is unweidly. (Plus, they film on weekdays like reasonable people, not that I wouldn’t give up a day of the day job to go shoot them)
